WILLIAMSON COUNTY CULTURAL ARTS COMMISSION
The
mission of the WCCAC is to promote, encourage and
advocate the cultural arts is Williamson County of
Tennessee.
2006-2007 PROJECTS
- Host the
Nashville Chamber Orchestra performance and provide
a reception at the Columbia Ave. Library.
- Develop a
public art tribute to our war veterans on the Five
Points Memorial site. Involve a professional public
space planner to feature benches, lighting,
fountain, landscaping improvements. $ 30.000.00
funding will come from County and Civic groups
- Continue to
sponsor Blue Grass on the Harpeth 2 day music
festival on the Square in Franklin. Sponsors will
donate $ 25.000.00 to fund event. Develope community
mosaic art children’s project to be placed at 5
Points Memorial. Sell water and soda for WCCAC
treasury.
- Continue
relationship with the Williamson County Fair hosting
the Arts Pavilion and visual arts competition.
Collaborate with Fair on Sponsor $15,000.00
donation. Expand the performances of entertainers on
the stage. Continue Mosaic Community children’s art
for 5 Points Memorial
- Pursue “Fill
the Shelves” book project for our county libraries.
Receive 3000 new books from
publishers. Approximately $6000.00-10.000.00 value
- Collaborate
with The Heritage Association on the save the local
Cinema. WCCAC was a major factor in raising
$18000.00
- Continue to
bring community arts exhibits to County buildings.
- Host open
public monthly meetings featuring entertainment and
information.
